CAPSTONE SPEAKER (Saturday
night)
ROSE ANNE ST. ROMAIN
From
the moss-draped bayous of Louisiana come tales of mysterious
creatures, stories of foolish folks, and personal anecdotes
in Rose Anne St. Romain's "Louisiana Lagniappe" storytelling
program. Cajun stories, Native American legends, and
Creole tales come alive when St. Romain wraps you in these
stories for all ages. As she draws listeners into the
world of her south Louisiana heritage, they come to
understand why this state has "lagniappe," a little
something extra.
Rose Anne St. Romain, a "master storyteller," according to
Kirkus Reviews, recently won a Louisiana Pioneer
Storytelling Award for 20 years of performing with her
characteristic gusto and grace. Her elegant style of
playfulness won a Parent's Guide to Children’s Media Award
for her audio CD collection of stories, Once Upon a Shoe.
